Psaroloco International Children's & Young People's Film Festivals

Kyklos is a civil non-profit organization based in Pireaus, which aims to promote the cinematography and to raise awareness as far as environmental issues are concerned.

The main activity of the company is the organization of the International Short Film Festival of Psarokokalo, an independent initiative which aims to screen films of young cinematographers from all around the world and to showcase and promote the short films.

About us:
The Psaroloco Media Literacy Project/Labs, is a program of cinema screenings specially formed for children and teenagers, with selected awarded short films and group workshops, in which children create entirely their own short films (fiction, documentary, stop motion, etc.).

Psaroloco's aim is to familiarize the novice audience with the basic terms of the cinematic experience and to promote media literacy. The project promotes the enhancement of the critical thinking of children and the ability to deconstruct images. It prioritizes vulnerable groups of children and adolescents.

Since 2010 it is under the International Short Film Festival Psarokokalo as Psaroloco International Short Film Festival.

Psaroloco's associates are the Chlidren Village SOS Greece and the civil non-profit Organization Tandem for the Psaroloco Labs in the centre of Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities Athens.
