Joy House Film Festival

The Joy House Film Festival is a yearly short film festival with the main theme of JOY and sub-theme of diversity. It's the only film festival in Australia that is supported by Actors Equity Australia's Diversity Committee and WITS (Women in Theatre & Screen - our social Media Sponsor).

It's screened in Sydney (at Hoyts cinemas cnr Albert & Victor St, Chatswood) and is open to submissions all year round.

Awards & Prizes
$1000 worth of prizes. Prizes include- cash, movie tickets, vouchers, watch, show bags, DVD packs, electrical/tech items etc.

Prizes for Best short film, Best diversity short film & Best Youth short film & W.I.T.S. (Women in Theatre & Screen) award.

Supported by Actor's Equity Australia's Diversity Committee.

Rules & Terms
Light entertainment short films. Short films must be made within 5 years and they must have a scene of JOY (happiness) in the short film. Open to drama, comedy, animation, stop animation, music video, action etc.
Christmas Early Bird Special $15 &

Late fee $30 in Aug 2018.

Children $5 regular. Late submissions for children $10

Tip- we've found that our audiences love short films that are to the point! Films that are joyful and to the point often win Hoyts People's Choice Award.
